Responses of Cucumber to Foliar Application of Nutrients on Lignite Mine Spoil

Experiments were conducted to study the effect of foliar and soil application of nutrients on mine spoil grown cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). Foliar application of 1 per cent urea, 1.5 per cent DAP and 1.5 per cent KCl with 3/4th strength of soil application was found to be the best combination with yield potential of 14.5 t ha⁻¹. The tissue N, P and K content was found to be increased in the plants sprayed with foliar nutrients along with soil application when compared with soil application alone.
