Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during 1993–94, 1995–96 and 1996–97 to study the response of rabi cultivated groundnut to various levels of phosphate applications under different land layouts and moisture regimes grown in a Vertisol. The results showed that groundnut grown in flat bed, irrigated at 0.75 IW/CPE and supplied with 60 kg P2O5 ha−1 gave optimum pod yield and resulted in increased water use efficiency. It also helped in increasing phosphorus availability in soil and NPK uptake by the groundnut plant.
