Abstract

A field experiment was carried out on loamy sand soil (Typic Haplustept) to study the effect of Zn and Fe enriched FYM on soil properties, available nutrient status and yield of mustard during 2002–03. The seed, straw and total yield of mustard was increased due to Zn and Fe enriched FYM application by 184, 356 and 539 kg ha−1, respectively over no FYM. The Zn and Fe enriched FYM improved average mustard seed yield by 20% over control whereas it was higher by 11% over straight Zn and Fe application. The Zn and Fe enriched FYM enhanced DTPA-extractable Zn and Fe contents of soil.
