Distribution of different forms of nitrogen and sulphur in some representative soil profiles of mid-western U.P. was examined. In all the soil profiles N and S forms decreased with increase in depth except the fixed NH4-N and non-sulphate sulphur which increased with increase in depth. Nitrogen forms gave significant positive correlations with sulphur forms i.e. total S and organic-S. Sulphur forms also gave significant positive correlations with nitrogen forms i.e. total-N and organic-N.
