Abstract

Field experiments were conducted for two years to study the effect of lime application in furrows and Rhizobium inoculation on the pod yield of and nutrient uptake by groundnut cv. JL-24 and soil characteristics of an acid Ultisol. The nodule weight increased significantly with liming and Rhizobium inoculation over control during both the years. The pod yield and N, P and Ca uptake by the pods increased significantly with liming and inoculation during both the years. The lime Rhizobium interaction was found significant for nodule weight, pod yield, and N uptake by pods in the second year showing an additive residual effect of the first year.
