Chloroquine poisoning is not commonly encountered in toxicological practice. A case is presented where toxic overdose of chloroquine was ingested as a means of suicide which proved rapidly fatal. Although the exact amount of chloroquine ingested could not be ascertained, blood and bile concentrations of chloroquine were highly lethal and confirmed death due to severe overdose.
