The employment-unemployment surveys conducted by the National Sample Survey Organisation provide estimates of workers employed in different sectors of the economy. The paper discusses the methods used for adopting these estimates in the labour input method for estimating GDP. The paper provides the estimates based on the latest survey conducted during 2004–05.
