The OECD has issued guidelines for the compilation of the National Health Accounts. The GOI has published the National Health Accounts for 2004–05 and projections upto 2008–09. There are minor differences between the system of health accounts (SHA) and Satellite accounts of Health (SAH). The Satellite accounts on health is more to balance the SNA supply and use tables and core SNA aggregates with SHA aggregates though SHA uses the same sources of data as the Satellite accounts. The CSO took the initiative to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of Shri Ramesh Kolli, former Additional Director General in the CSO to formulate guidelines on the tables to be compiled as part of SAH. This paper highlights those tables.
