Abstract

The need to have relevant data for plan formulation and policy purposes at the district level has been increasingly felt with the shift of emphasis to decentralized planning. The present work has been written in a scenario where the national level data system is rigorous and well designed, with matching state data but very little information at the district level. Here, a sincere effort is made to get estimates of reliable macro aggregates at the district level. The methodology of compilation of GVA from crop sector at national level has been adhered in the compilation process. However, care has been taken in apportioning of some of the inputs due to paucity of data at district level.
