The information technology and communication has revolutionized every sphere of our life whether that be our personal or professional. The role of it in academic institutions is visible in its every domain. In the present milieu, the e-resources are regarded the back bone of any research or academic institution as they are means to provide easy and simultaneous means to access information. The output of any institution whether it may be human resource or scholarly communication depicts progress and wealth of a country, which is in turn, depend upon the awareness and use of information sources. The purpose of the study is to find out the constraints and hindrances faced by the users while accessing and using e-resources. The study is based on literature review. The focus of the study is mostly on the users of Indian institutes. The major portion of the research studies carried on the use of e-resources was selected from Indian scholarly works. The studies reveals that the major problems faced by users particularly users of Indian institutes are more or less same, that is, Lack of Internet terminals, frequent power cuts, lack of orientation and short of professionals.
