This study is on the internet access over Wi-Fi by the academics of Pondicherry University, a central university established by the Government of India. A semi-structured questionnaire was designed for collection of data, and random sampling technique was adopted for data collection. A total of 200 questionnaires were circulated and 185 valid, filled in responses were collected. The data, thus, collected was analysed using SPSS (ver.20). The finding of the study shows that there is difference among the different gender in terms of having E-gadgets like laptops, having internet connectivity at home and the usage of internet for a longer period. Age, too, has influence over how long they have been using Wi-Fi, what gadget they use to access Wi-Fi and the comfort with Wi-Fi. Similarly, their residential locality, too, has relation to the availability of internet connectivity at home, how long they have been using internet, places of access to internet and accessibility to E-gadgets.
