This study attempts to undertake a scientometric analysis of the research publications of Government Medical College Calicut (GMCC), Kerala. The period covered under the study is 30 years (1986–2015). The data for this study was extracted from Scopus which includes a total of 468 papers covering journal articles, conference papers, reviews and articles in press having an authorship or a co-authorship associated with GMCC. The results of the study reveals major aspects like number of publications, citations, authorship pattern, research collaboration and others. The analysis revealed the publication trend of GMCC. The total 468 publications earned 3,625 citations during the period under study shows the quality of publications emanated from GMCC. From 2001 onwards, there was a steady increase in the number of publications. The average degree of collaboration was arrived at a value of 0.94 for all the publications, which clearly indicates the dominance of collaborative research among the authors. Finally, the study concluded with remark that the GMCC authority needs to give more attention to generate more qualitative research output.
