Abstract

The present study aimed at investigating the user's perception of service quality provided by the Central Library of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, Punjab by using LibQUAL+™ instrument. The targeted population was 200 users including undergraduate students, postgraduate students and faculty members. Out of 200 LibQUAL+™ questionnaires, a total 115 completely filled questionnaires were found qualified to analyse and include in the study. Therefore, the response rate was achieved 57.50%. With the help of LibQUAL+™ instrument, the collected data and responses of users for minimum, desired and perceived level of services were analysed to find the service adequacy gap (gap between perception and minimum) and service superiority gap (gap between perception and desired). The present study further revealed the relationship between LibQUAL+™ dimensions and overall user satisfaction with the library services of BFUHS.
