In the present scenario, information on agriculture activities is available in various forms and media all over the world. Only the practical application of such information in farms will help to enhance agricultural development of a state. This paper has briefly examined the existing scenario in India and Kerala and the need for extension activities in agricultural sector for improving agricultural production for effecting rural development in the state. The paper also has recommended the adoption of system approach in the transfer and dissemination of agricultural technology.
