Abstract

The study will review and analyse the profile of the PhD awarded degree holders in the discipline of Library and Information Science (LIS) PhD in USA (United State of America) during the timeline of2001 to 2010. The study will help in understanding their contribution of their research production which are based on their PhD thesis. It will also assess the research scenario of LIS research in the USA. Finally, it will evaluate the key aspects such as research productivity, key areas of research, their scholarly publication pattern, authors’ collaboration, and discover the key sources of publications with the help in preparation of bibliometric parameters. The discussions and observations in the present study will be placed on record for the further improvement of research, which may represent a guiding tool for researchers and institutions to explore innovation in the area of LIS research.
