This case study discusses issues related to industrial relations that emerged due to the reforms introduced by Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board, India for smooth management of electrical supply in the state. The Case is a classical example of the impact of employees unrest due to the changing policies of the organization. It gives insight on the fact that policy changes affecting employees at large are very sensitive issues that are vulnerable to discontentment's and apprehensions amongst employees affecting the smooth functioning of the organization. Though the reform measures were meant to strengthen the existing system but the organization had to face several serious revolts and disagreements by the work force. Several strikes, gheros and dharnas were called upon which affected not only the functioning of the organization but also of the public at large. Final joint negotiations between workers and management lead to win-win situation for all.
