Koha as a solution for library administration

The investigation was addressed to the analysis and implementation of a Bibliographical Information System prototype (SIB), but mainly to tools available for the public under a GLP license, having in mind the beneits and consequences that could be obtained at the technical and administrative levels. The following question was set out: "How a bibliographical information system as KOHA would satisfy the functional and service needs in small libraries?" The answer was obtained through the analysis of different components in the Information Systems and the advantages that the process automation within the Bibliographic Information Centers provides. In general, Koha answered the requirements of libraries as to the administration of its bibliographic funds, assuring the provision of quality services to its users.
