Abstract

Libraries are widely acknowledged for their pivotal role in teaching, learning, and research, serving as repositories for information and facilitators of knowledge organization to enhance effective use. Research stands out as the most crucial, offering reliable solutions to prevailing challenges. This paper examines the research contributions made by North Indian State universities related to the field of LIS to the Shodhganga e-theses database from 2012 to 2023. The study’s data is sourced from both Shodhganga and the UGC website. Some key areas are examined to explain the research contribution of North Indian state universities, including state-wise, university-wise, and year-wise contributions, leading to the identification of the top five universities. A total of 15 North Indian state universities have uploaded 416 theses to the Shodhganga e-thesis database.
