Use of robots in the libraries

Abstract

Robots are speedily revolutionizing different industries. Libraries are also not left behind in taking advantage of Robots in the library. This paper has presented qualitative research, after an extensive literature review and exploring new technology examples with the help of the internet. This explains how libraries across the world take benefit of robots, to make their services according to the rapidly changing AI and Virtual world.

The Christchurch City Library in New Zealand uses the Milo telepresence robot to connect users with a library, while the New Canaan library in the United States uses beam robots. In a library, robots can carry out a variety of tasks, such as checking out and returning books, scanning books, assisting patrons, and answering patrons’ inquiries accurately. Robots such as Drones can play a significant role in DDS. The use of robots in libraries has many advantages. Robots can offer roundthe- clock assistance, virtual reference services, individualized customer support, improve the security of library materials, and more. Finally, we conclude that libraries can profit greatly from robots and can expand their role in producing skilled individuals in society.
