Abstract

The library's principal responsibility is to acquire, process, organise, preserve, and secure printed and non-printed information resources or materials for the use of its patrons. Library managers are under a lot of pressure to gather and preserve resources for future generations as a result of the published material's explosive growth. As the amount of information available increases, managing it gets more challenging and can result in information overload. In summary, concerns include information overload, collection development, preservation and communication for long-term benefits, and, finally, protecting records from unethical practices. Security is essential in every area of life; it is needed not just for people and their lives but also for institutions like libraries. Mutilation of books, theft of library materials, intentional mis-shelving of books, use of other patrons' library cards, duplicating ownership stamps, and other serious security challenges in libraries include, but are not limited to. This study also discusses many forms of library safety and security issues, as well as various mechanisms used in library preservation.
