Trends and Collaboration in the Annals of Library and Information Studies (2010-2025): A Scientometric Perspective on Growth, Productivity and Rankings

Abstract

The main aim of the study is to analyze the different quantitative aspects of the journal Annals of Library and Information Studies, which includes year-wise growth of articles, authorship pattern of articles, collaboration index, degree of collaboration, geographical distribution of the research output, productivity and ranking of authors, etc. A scientometrics analysis of Annals of Library and Information Studies journals was conducted based on the articles published in the journal from 2010 to 2025. It covers 501 articles contributed by 952 authors from 31 countries. We have used several scientometric tools to see the different aspects of the journal. We identified the year-wise distribution of articles, authorship patterns, and geographical distributions. The study has the following findings: India is the most productive country. Most of the articles are written by multiple authors. In 16 years, a total of 501 articles were published in the journal Annals of Library and Information Studies by various researchers/ scientists, librarians, University teachers and also it can be seen that the maximum no of articles was published in the year 2014 with AGR 104.5%.
