Abstract

This article gives an overview of the open access repository, importance of open access, routes of open access and archiving policies of Sherpa/RoMeo and Sherpa/Juliate. The approach of open access movement is to provide the free access to the information as quickly as possible, so that anyone with internet connectivity can access to information for the betterment of the society. In this process the information gap between the rich and poor can be avoided. Open access movement aims to overcome this crisis. Sherpa project assist author and researcher to know the publishing and self archiving polices because they want to make their paper open access in their own web site and institutional repository.
