Scholarly publishing literacy skills have become essential tools to become a published author in the contemporary era of technology and open access. The paper provides an overview of those skills. The Author also highlighted the role of librarians to promote scholarly publishing literacy and described various themes to be covered under scholarly publishing literacy programmes on the basis of available literature. The librarians require additional resources and collaboration with faculty members to develop such type of programmes in academic libraries in India.
