Information seeking behavior of research scholars of G D Goenka University, (GDGU) Gurgaon: A survey

The present paper deals with the information seeking behavior of research scholars of GD Goenka University, Gurgaon: a survey. a survey method was used for collecting of the data. 60 questionnaire were distributed among the 45 were returned. The survey indicates that the majority of scholars were used periodicals for seeking information among formal information sources. Majority of the research scholars were consult and seek needed information from his research guide. E-journals and E-thesis/dissertation were two major e-resources used by the research scholars for their research work. Most of the research scholars were used internet for e-mail and chatting literature search, information seeking and gathering respectively. More than half research scholars were search through key words and least were search through truncation search on the internet. Lack of time and information scattered in various forms were the major problems encountered while seeking information by the research scholars. Research scholars were more prefer digital information form.
