The present paper explores the trends of web references in the Journal of Computer Mediated Communication during the year 2017 A total of 1007 references were selected from 21 research articles published during the year under study Out of 543 web references, DOIs were found in 490 references and 53 references contained URLs. It was found that 521 web references were accessible and the remaining 22 web references were missing. The study also investigated the characteristic features of display and destination URLs like the path depth, URL length, file format, and top-level domain.
