Planner proceedings: A bibliometric analysis of research outputs published during 7th and 11th series (2010-2018)

Abstract

The paper discusses bibliometric analysis of research articles published in the PLANNER Proceedings during 7th and 11th series (i.e, 2010-2018). The study contemplated analysis of series wise distribution of articles, their authorship pattern, degree of collaboration among the authors, references and forms of documents cited etc. The result showed that overall 227 numbers of articles were published during 7th and 11th series, out of which highest numbers of papers i.e.,54 (23.78%) were recorded in the 8th series (2012). Majority of LIS professionals preferred to do collaborative research and contributed 152 papers jointly, that amounts to 66.96% and rest of 75 (33.03%) of articles were found with single authored. The study also revealed that a total number of 2212 references were cited from 227 published articles in which majority of authors (950 i.e. 42.94%) preferred to consult websites as a source of information. The research was conducted using online search survey method for retrieving related data via computer from institutional repository of INFLIBNET that has been available free of cost with bibliometric analysis and MS Excel as statistical tools.
