"Basic course workshops" are mandatory for all the teachers teaching in the medical colleges. Fresh doctors starting the carrier as teacher do not have training in education technology. To equip the doctors with education technologies, MCI recommends this training for all doctors joining medical colleges.
To study the effectiveness of basic course workshop on the faculty members.
The study was conducted at FMHS, SGT University, Gurgaon, India. Two workshops duly permitted by MCI were organized in two consecutive years and 44 faculty took part in the training. Pre-test, Post-test and Feedback data from the faculty was encoded in numerical variables and analysed by SPSS.
There was significant improvement in the knowledge of faculty as was revealed by posttest and feedback data (p value equals to 0.0003)
The faculty was keen to learn, wanted to improve their teaching skills and utilize the knowledge for the benefit of students.
