Effect of sodium hexameta phosphate in the presence and absence of calcium chloride on corrosion behaviour of different types of white cast iron

Abstract

Sodium hexameta phosphate enhances the corrosion rate of steels. But in the prsence of calcium/magnesium metal ion it deaccelerates corrosion rate. Using 0.5% SHMP in presence of CaCl2 corrosion rate decreases. Corrosion rate decreases upto the addition of 10 ppm of CaCl2 solution.
