Abstract

The fluids flowing in porous media experience thermal and mechanical stresses. These arise due to flow of viscous fluid in a porous media.Under the hypothesis that the fluid fills all the micropores in he solid granular medium, a model for the momentum, heat and mass transfer is written. This model includes the terms of Dufour, soret and mass effects. Sample plots of temperature distributions and Nusselt numbers showing preferred modes at onset of turbulence is given. The values of thermal conductivities at various frequencies of flow disturbance were computed and compared with those from literature.
