Abstract

Mild steel and stainless steel are generally used by petroleum industry for recovery of crude oil. The strong acid is applied for opening of oil well bore and enhancement of oil production. The corrosion of metals is started due to strong acid which makes environment highly corrosive. The comparative corrosive analysis of mild steel and stainless steel was done in 20%HCl solution by use of thiourea derivative inhibitors like N,N’-di-o-tolythiourea, N,N’-diphenylthiourea and N-phenylthiourea. The corrosive phenomenon was studied at different concentration and same temperature and vice-versa. The experimental work was done with the help of gravimetric (weight loss Exp.) and potentiostate polarization equipments.
