In this work, effective procedure of modeling uncertainties has been envisaged in metallurgical processes of elastic-plastic solids with reference to the reliability assessment. A metallurgical process may be defined as a collection of one or more related objects. These objects are physical entities with specific characteristics or attributes. The objects can be either non-interacting or interacting. The attributes of an object are described in terms of parameters and variables. Parameters are attributed intrinsic to the object. Variables are needed to describe interaction between objects. Finite element based process simulation can offer valuable guidelines on how the current process parameters should be modified to meet the requirements on the process and the product. The work represents a continued effort towards developing a sound methodology for modeling uncertainties in the metal working with reference to the reliability assessment. The objective of this work is to use probabilistic methods to represent sources of uncertainty and then sampling methods to propagate sources through a deterministic model.
