Electrochemical and pitting corrosion behavior of as received and heat-treated after deformation in the 316L stainless steel was investigated. The results indicated that pitting occurred in as received sample, while the small pits were observed in deformed and heat treated sample after immersion test in 10%FeCl3 solution. After immersion test in 10% FeCl3 solution the micro structural characterization of corroded sample were analyzed by scanning electron. A Protentio dynamic polarization test in PWR environment was performed to evaluate the electrochemical behavior of samples after deformation and heat treatment. The results showed that the corrosion rate decrease after deformation and heat treatment because heat-treatment after deformation form a more protective oxide film on the surface of samples as compared to oxide film formon the as received samples. The Ecorr shifted toward the passive direction with increase in annealing temperature after deformation. The shift in Ecorr (passive direction) indicates amore protective passive film(Cr2 O3) over the surface.
