Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Motivation and Employee Performance among civil servants particularly in Kigoma/Ujiji municipal in Tanzania. Using a cross-sectional and correlational design, useable questionnaires were received from 260 civil servants in Kigoma/Ujiji municipal. The data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences. The findings obtained a positive significant relationship between motivation and employee performance. This study provides insights on the initial understanding of the relationship between motivation and employee performance using evidence from civil servants in Kigoma/Ujiji municipal.
