Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to predict the switching behaviour of the students with respect to mobile brands.

This paper used first order Markov Chain Model for predicting the switching behaviour and also analysed the future market scenario of the mobile brands. The data was collected from 320 college going students.

There was very high probability of brand switching behaviour among the students and they intend to switch their mobile brands. In the long run, it is the technology which will lead than any single brand. It has been observed that there will be high retention in apple along with Microsoft/Nokia and other local/small brands.
