Hearing loss in children is a cause for parental as well as physician concern. Early diagnosis of hearing loss and early rehabilitation ensures age appropriate social and educational development of the deaf child. The battery of audiological tests required for diagnosis along with benefits and limitations of hearing aid use as well as indications for cochlear implantation are discussed.
