Surfactant replacement therapy

In this review on surfactant replacement therapy, role of surfactant in Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in newborns has been discussed. Various surfactant trials based on type of surfactant and timing of administration of surfactant have been discussed. The current available evidence has been evaluated. Recommendations for Indian scenario, based on current evidence have been mentioned.
