Abstract

The urinary tract infection is frequent in hospital environment and normally associated with the instrumentation of the urinary tract. Use of indwelling urinary catheters can lead to complications, most commonly catheter-associated urinary tract infections. This study attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of “Integrated Catheter Care Pathway Package (ICCPP)” regarding indwelling urinary catheter care on knowledge of staff nurses. Data was collected from 50 nurses; the results showed ICCPP was effective in increasing the knowledge of staff nurses regarding indwelling urinary catheter care.
