Abstract

An evaluative study with preexperimental one group pre test-post test design was undertaken in selected maternity hospitals in Mangalore. Data was collected from 50 staff nurses in the selected maternity hospitals, Mangalore to determine the effectiveness of the self-instructional module on selected obstetric drugs among staff nurses working in the selected maternity hospitals and was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that post-test mean knowledge score (30.1 ± 4.788) was higher than the pre-test mean knowledge score (13.48 ± 5.115). The calculated‘t’ value (15.007) was higher than the table value (t49=1.6766) at 0.05 level of significance.
