Screening of Gladiolus Cultivars Against Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus

Out of 158 gladiolus cultivars screened for the presence of mosaic virus, 30 were found with severe mosaic symptoms and high A₄₀₅ value, 34 with severe mosaic and medium A₄₀₅ value, 35 with mild mosaic and high A₄₀₅ value, 42 with mild mosaic and low A₄₀₅ value, two with mild mosaic and no reaction, 10 with no symptom and low A₄₀₅ value, one with no symptom but high A₄₀₅ value, one with severe mosaic and no reaction and three with no symptom as well as no reaction in DAC-ELISA. Only one breeding line showed high A₄₀₅ value without apparent symptoms indicating it as a latent carrier of the virus.
