Influence of Holding Solution on Postharvest Quality of Cut Flowers of Rose Cultivars

Abstract

Eight popular cut flower rose cultivars viz., Janter Manter, Imperator, Lahar, Pandit Nehru, Sugandha, Arjun, Kentucky Durbey and Fetura, were selected for the present studies and cut sprays were collected from field grown plants at uniform size and bud stage. Cut roses were kept in different holding solutions. Aluminium sulphate (300ppm) and Sucrose (3%) + Aluminium sulphate (300ppm) were found to be the best holding solutions for improving postharvest quality of cut roses.
