Abstract

Thirty two gladiolus genotypes were evaluated during kharif-2005-05 at UAS, Dharwad (Karnataka) Analysis of variance reveled significant differences among genotypes for all fifteen characters studied. High GCV and PCV were observed for corm weight (29.59 and 29.58 gm) plant height at 30 DAP (16.10 and 15.34), High heritability and genetic advance as percent mean was observed as for corm weight (g) (93.6 and 60.92), corm diameter (planted) (96.3 and 30.47) and plant height at 30 DAP (90.7 and 29.90). Significant and positive correlations were observed for corm weight (2.737 and 0.724), corm diameter (0.534 and 0.504) and plant height 30 DAP (0.762 and 0.744) no. of leaves at 60 DAP (0.915 and 0.873) no. of days taken for full emergence of spike (0.928 and 0.877), and number of days taken for first flower initiation (0.945 and 0.907).
