Abstract

The combining and heterobeltosis analysis was carried out in gladiolus based on 7x7 half diallel for growth trait during 2005 to 2007 utilizing seven varieties viz. American Beauty, Sylvia, Melody, Summer Sunshine, Vedanapoli, Magic and Priscilla. The floral parameters are under the control of both additive and dominance gene action with the operation of over dominance with low heritability and the genes are distributed unequally. For yield parameters both type of gene action is prevailing but there is significant interaction with the environment so there is low heritability.
