An investigation was carried out to enhance the storage life of jasmine flowers (Jasminum sambac) under cold room conditions. Experiments were laid out on FCRD with three replications, to study the effects of different chemical treatments (12), polypropylene (PP) packing without vents (20, 40, 60 and 80 μ thickness), corrugated fibre board with 4% vent (CFB) packaging and their interaction on shelf-life of J. sambac. Observations were recorded on the visual quality (freshness index, flowers opening index, colour retention index and fragrance score) of flowers and the physiological parameters associated with the post harvest quality of flowers. It was found treating the flowers in boric acid 4%, packing in PP 60 μ and CFB packaging was found significant and extended the shelf life of flowers to 192.32 hours. Visual quality and the physiological parameters were highly significant in this package when compared to other packages and control.
