The study was conducted in cocopeat and sand medium with pre-planting dipping of growth regulators viz. IBA 200 and 100, NAA 50 and 100, IAA 100 and 200, Thiourea 1000 and 2000 ppm for a period of 12 hour and 24 hour. The objective is to find out the influence of plant growth regulators and media on conventional propagation of cymbidium backbulbs. The study reveled that backbulbs treated with Thiourea 2000 ppm record maximum number of primary roots (12.20), secondary roots (4.66), root length (20.36 cm), root diameter (0.80 cm), shoot length (42.90 cm), shoot diameter (1.75 cm), number of leaves (7.80 cm) and highest shoot emergence (95%) in cocopeat medium. The remarkable variation was not observed due to rooting media and period of pre-planting dipping.
