Seven different potting media comprising soil, sand, FYM, vermicompost and cocopeat were evaluated to sustain growth of pot mum production in chrysanthemum cv. “Yellow Charm”. These media were mixed in different ratio to make seven different all treatment combinations. Presentable life of pot mum chrysanthemums was found appreciable in treatment comprising soil + sand + FYM + vermicompost (2: 1: 0.5: 0.5) along with improved vegetative and flowering characters that were found satisfactory for specimen display of pot mum chrysanthemums both under open as well as polyhouse conditions. The performance of chrysanthemum cv. Yellow Charm grown under open conditions was at par with plants grown under polyhouse condition with respect to vegetative and floral characters. However parameters like days to flowering, duration of flowering and number of flowers per plants were improved under polyhouse condition.
