Abstract

Gerbera is commercially cultivated under protected cultivation but nutrient removal is very high under protected conditions hence, its nutrient requirements have to be carefully monitored through plant analysis. The present experiment was carried out to study the effect of foliar application of micronutrients on nutrient content of gerbera under protected conditions. The treatment consisted of thirteen combinations comprising of micronutrients solely or in combination with different doses. The results revealed maximum leaf nitrogen (N) content (2.37%), phosphorous (P) content (0.28%) and potassium (K) content (2.45%), was obtained with [ZnSO4 (0.2%) + MnSO4 (0.2%) + FeSO4 (0.1%)]. In case of micronutrients, zinc (Zn) content (98.43 ppm), manganese (Mn) content (99.53 ppm) and iron (Fe) content (291.97 ppm), were recorded highest with foliar application of [ZnSO4 (0.2%) + MnSO4 (0.2%) + FeSO4 (0.1%)].
