Abstract

Best performance during in vitro propagation with reference to both shoot proliferation and elongation in carnation cvs Red Corso and Prime Minister was obtained when NAA (0.2 ppm) + BAP (0.5 ppm) + GA3 (1.0 ppm) were supplemented to MS medium. However, for cv, Candy, the hormonal combination of NAA (0.2 ppm) + BAP (1.0 ppm) + GA3 (1.0 ppm) gave the highest shoot proliferation whereas NAA (0.2 ppm) + BAP (2.0 ppm) + GA3 (1.0 ppm) showed best shoot elongation.
