Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of pulsing solutions and durations on vase life of carnation cultivar ‘Sensi’ and ‘Yellow Dot Com’ in Factorial Completely Randomized Design. Eleven pulsing solutions along with three pulsing durations were used to study the effect. Maximum vase life was exhibited by cut flowers of cv. Yellow Dot Com with sucrose 10% + 8HQC 300 ppm + BA17.5 ppm for 24 hours and maximum flower diameter was attained by cv. Sensi when the flowers were pulsed with sucrose 10% + 8HQC 300 ppm + BA 20 ppm for 16 hours. However, minimum flower diameter was attained by cv. `Yellow Dot Com` when flowers were placed in distilled water.
