Abstract

Evaluation of fifty chrysanthemum genotypes at Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari recorded the significant variation in their growth habit, flower colour, flower head type and physiological parameters. The maximum chlorophyll content was recorded in Pusa Aditya (66.48), maximum fresh plant weight (416.79 g) and dry plant weight (107.09 g) were recorded in the genotype Star White while genotype Jaya recorded superior harvest index (357.25%). On the basis of observations recorded, genotypes Jaya, Suneel, Ratlam Selection, Bidhan Agnidev, Bidhan Gold were identified for loose flower production; Star White, Thai Chen Queen for cut flower production under open field; Privato, Deep Red and Kargil-99 for pot culture; Ajina Purple, Mother Teresa, Pusa Guldasta for bedding purpose whereas Garden Beauty and Winter Queen for hanging basket as most suitable genotypes under South Gujarat conditions.
