Effect of planting time on growth of gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus L.) cv. Punjab Dawn under Malwa plateau conditions of Madhya Pradesh

The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of planting time on growth parameters of Gladiolus at Experimental Farm, Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, K.N.K. College of Horticulture, Mandsaur (M.P.) in the Malwa plateau region of Madhya Pradesh during 2021-22. The experimental material was consisting of 3 replications with 7 treatments of planting time i.e., T₁ (October 15^th), T₂ (October 25^th), T₃ (November 5^th), T₄ (November 15^th), T₅ (November 25^th), T₆ (December 5^th), T₇ (December 15^th). The planting dates, T₃ (November 5^th) and T₅ (November 25^th) performed best results with respect of most of the growth parameters. The highest plant height (cm), number of leaves per hill, length of longest leaf (cm), width of longest leaf (cm), chlorophyll content of leaves was noticed in T₃ (November 5^th)and days taken to sprouting was noticed in T₅ (November 25^th)
